Ms. Ely Heredia
Head of School & CEO
Ms. Ely Heredia is a distinguished Montessori educator and educational leader devoted to cultivating independence, curiosity, and a lifelong love of learning in every child she serves. With over 12 years of experience as a Lead Teacher, she has guided children from 8 months to 6 years of age in both traditional and authentic Montessori environments, supporting their physical, emotional, intellectual, and social development during the most formative years of life.
Ms. Ely holds a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education from Colegio Ensenada in Tijuana, B.C. (2014), along with a Diploma in Early Stimulation and the MHATCP Montessori Guide for Early Childhood certification. She has pursued continuous professional growth through advanced Montessori training and continuing education programs, including a Continuing Education Certificate from the University of Wisconsin–River Falls. Most recently, she earned a certification from Harvard University in “Early Childhood Development: Global Strategies for Implementation,” further strengthening her global perspective and leadership in early childhood education.
An active member of the American Montessori Society (AMS), Ms. Ely embraces an approach to Montessori education that honors Dr. Montessori’s foundational principles while thoughtfully integrating current research in child development and neuroscience. Unlike more traditionally rigid training models, AMS emphasizes a dynamic and globally responsive application of Montessori philosophy, preparing educators to adapt authentically to the evolving needs of modern children and diverse communities. This balance of fidelity to Montessori’s vision with evidence-based contemporary practice allows Ms. Ely to provide an education that is both deeply rooted and forward-thinking.
As a Head Montessori Teacher, Ms. Ely believes that the experiences offered in early childhood shape not only academic foundations, but the character, confidence, and emotional intelligence of the adult the child will become. Her philosophy is rooted in deep respect for the child, intentional observation, and the transformative power of a carefully prepared environment. She thoughtfully weaves foundational Montessori principles—respect, emotional awareness, independence, responsibility, and a genuine passion for discovery—into every aspect of her professional practice and daily life.
With over a decade of dedicated experience in early childhood education, Ms. Ely brings a depth of wisdom and discernment that can only be cultivated through years of observation, guidance, and meaningful connection with children. Her insight into child development is both refined and intuitive, allowing her to respond to each child with clarity, confidence, and compassion. Families consistently express their appreciation for her leadership, attentiveness, and the lasting impact she has on their children’s growth, often sharing heartfelt gratitude for the security, independence, and transformation they witness under her guidance.
Driven by vision, dedication, and an unwavering commitment to authentic Montessori principles, Ms. Ely fulfilled one of her greatest aspirations by co-founding Blooming House Montessori alongside Ms. Ivonne. As the majority partner and educational leader of the school, she has played a central role in shaping its philosophy, standards, and long-term vision. Together, they established a school grounded in integrity, respect, and high standards of Montessori excellence—an environment where children flourish with confidence, independence, and joy.
Beyond her professional life, Ms. Ely treasures meaningful time with her family and her two Yorkshire Terriers. She has a deep love for animals, enjoys practicing Pilates, exploring new restaurants, shopping, and finding inspiration in everyday moments. Her warmth, strength of character, and profound dedication to children make her not only an exceptional educator, but a transformative presence within the Blooming House Montessori community.
Ms. Melissa Sanchez
Primary Assistant Teacher
Ms. Melissa has been working with children since 2015 and has completed Child Development coursework at MiraCosta College. Throughout her experience, she has developed strong, trusting relationships with children while assisting lead teachers in creating engaging learning activities and promoting positive behaviors that support each child’s understanding and academic growth. Working under the guidance and supervision of experienced educators has strengthened her commitment to helping children reach their full potential.
Ms. Melissa is passionate about creating a supportive, inclusive, and encouraging learning environment where every child feels valued, respected, and empowered to succeed. She believes that meaningful relationships, patience, and consistency are essential in helping children develop confidence, independence, and a lifelong love of learning.
Growing up with a sibling on the autism spectrum has been one of the most meaningful influences in Ms. Melissa’s life. Watching her sibling navigate challenges with strength and resilience gave her a deep appreciation for the importance of patience, compassion, and individualized support. This experience also allowed her to witness firsthand the profound impact that dedicated educators and caregivers can have on a child’s growth and confidence. Inspired by these experiences, Ms. Melissa pursued a career in education, where she strives to provide every child with the support, encouragement, and opportunities they need to thrive.
Ms. Marisela Leyva
Primary Head Teacher
Marisela L. Leyva was born in Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico. She is the third of four sisters, all of whom, like her, have dedicated their lives to Montessori education. One of her sisters founded the first Montessori infant community in Tijuana, which remained in operation for 35 years and left a lasting impact on the education of countless families in the region.
Inspired by her family’s educational legacy, Marisela began her professional journey at the age of eighteen as an assistant in a Montessori classroom in Tijuana. After five years as an assistant, she continued her professional education at the Sierra Madre Training Center in Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico, where she earned her certification as a Montessori Guide for children ages three to six.
Throughout nearly 39 years of experience, she has worked in Montessori schools in Tijuana, Baja California; Cuernavaca, Morelos; and Hermosillo, Sonora. During her time in Cuernavaca, in addition to working as a Montessori teacher, she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Education, becoming certified as a traditional classroom teacher and broadening her educational knowledge and perspective.
In 2018, she was selected to participate in an educational and cultural exchange program that brought her to the United States. For five years, she was part of the teaching team at a Montessori school in the Los Angeles area, further expanding her experience in an international educational environment.
Horses have been a fundamental part of Marisela’s life since she was 11 years old, when she began horseback riding in the jumping discipline. At the age of 22, she found a new passion by joining an escaramuza charra team, one of the most representative traditions of charrería, recognized as Mexico’s national sport for its art, culture, and tradition.
For nearly three decades, she was part of this discipline, competing in both state and national competitions and achieving outstanding results with her team, including top-five finishes—accomplishments she remembers with great pride.
In 2021, she had the opportunity to unite her two greatest passions, education and horses, by becoming certified in equine-assisted therapy. Since then, she has complemented her educational work with horse-assisted therapy, supporting children and people with diverse needs through a respectful, compassionate, and holistic approach.
As part of her commitment to this field, she began volunteering at Angeles Guardianes Equine-Assisted Therapy Center in Rosarito, Baja California. She later continued volunteering with Riding the Spectrum in Oxnard, California, and at Ride On Therapeutic Horsemanship in Chatsworth. These experiences have allowed her to continue learning and collaborating with teams committed to the well-being and development of children and adults.
Marisela maintains the same enthusiasm and passion that first inspired her. Every day, she reaffirms that educating is a shared journey of learning, and although her mission is to guide children, they are the ones who, with their authenticity, curiosity, and sense of wonder, teach her valuable lessons every day.
That experience continually renews her love for education and strengthens her commitment to supporting each child with respect, patience, and confidence in their limitless potential.

Ms. Giselle Barrios
Primary Assistant Teacher
Ms. Giselle brings almost a decade of experience working in Montessori environments, where she has dedicated her career to supporting young children during their most formative years. She holds a degree in Infant and Toddler Development and Care and completed her Montessori training through the American Montessori Society (AMS).
Throughout her nine years of experience, Ms. Giselle has developed a deep understanding of early childhood development and is known for providing thoughtful, attentive, and developmentally appropriate care. She values creating a calm, nurturing environment where children feel safe, respected, and supported as they build independence and confidence.
Ms. Giselle is passionate about observing each child as an individual and following their unique rhythms and needs. She finds great joy in guiding children as they explore their environment, develop meaningful relationships, and reach important developmental milestones.Her journey led her to Blooming House Montessori, where she feels aligned with the school’s Montessori philosophy and warm, community-centered environment.
Ms. Giselle is grateful to be part of a team that honors children with care, intention, and respect, and she looks forward to growing alongside the families and children she works with.
Ms. Christine Tuccio
Toddler Head Teacher
Ms. Christine studied Psychology at the University of Lima in Peru, where she earned her Bachelor’s degree. Later, she received a certification in Rational Emotive Therapy at the Institute of Rational Emotive Therapy in Lima, Peru, certified by the Albert Ellis Institute in New York. After moving to San Diego, she continued her studies and got her certificate in Expressive Arts Therapy. She is also a Reiki healer and has completed her Child Development classes.
Over time, Ms. Christine realized that every path she followed always led her to work with children, something that brings her the most joy. Watching how children’s minds grow, imagine, and explore the world is one of her favorite things.
She is married, has a daughter, a baby boy, and a sweet Yorkie who came with her all the way from Peru. Inspired by her daughter, Ms. Christine decided to focus her work on creating sensory activities made with taste-safe ingredients, so children can safely explore and learn through play.
Her journey led her to Blooming House School, a place she finds truly special for its Spanish immersion program and warm, Montessori environment. She feels grateful to be part of a community that values respect, creativity, and the unique potential of every child.
Ms. Christine loves continuing to learn through new courses and trainings related to early childhood education. She also holds a Montessori Assistant certificate and enjoys bringing fun, mindfulness, and imagination to the classroom every day.
Ms. Yanelly Flores
Toddler Assistant Teacher
Yanelly Flores is a dedicated, responsible, and passionate educator committed to teaching and supporting the overall development of children. She has more than 10 years of professional experience working in early childhood education, primarily in preschool and early education settings.
She graduated from Universidad Pedagógica de Durango, where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Education, and later continued her professional development by earning a Master’s Degree in Special Education. Her academic background has given her a comprehensive understanding of children’s educational, social, and emotional needs.
Throughout her professional career, Yanelly has worked as a preschool teacher, preschool director, and teacher assistant, gaining extensive experience in classroom management, lesson planning, child development, educational program implementation, and creating safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environments for children.
She is currently continuing her education at Southwestern College in San Diego, California, where she is taking coursework related to Early Childhood Education. She also has experience working in bilingual and multicultural environments, allowing her to support children’s learning and development in diverse settings.
Yanelly is known for her patience, empathy, creativity, and commitment to education. She believes that the early years of life are essential to a child’s development and that every child deserves learning opportunities that recognize and support their individual abilities and needs.
In addition to her educational experience, she has skills in Montessori classroom support, classroom management, child development, lesson planning, and parent communication. She also holds current CPR and First Aid certifications, as well as TB Clearance and Live Scan Fingerprint Clearance.
With a strong academic background and extensive professional experience, Yanelly continues to grow as an educator and strives to make a positive difference in every child’s academic, social, and emotional development. Her greatest motivation is to create an environment where children feel safe, respected, included, and encouraged to learn and discover their own abilities.
Ms. Ivonne Cervantes
Co-Founder
Ms. Ivonne is a dedicated Montessori educator and co-founder of Blooming House Montessori, deeply committed to nurturing each child’s natural curiosity, independence, and love of learning. Born in Chula Vista, California, she earned her B.A. in Early Childhood Education at the Escuela Particular Colegio Ensenada before returning to San Diego. After obtaining her teaching credentials from the State of California, she worked across all three Montessori environments—infant, toddler, and primary—gaining a strong understanding of each stage of early childhood development.
With over ten years of experience in education, Ms. Ivonne is a beloved member of the community, known for her warmth, patience, and genuine care for every child and family she serves. She continued her professional growth by earning her AMI Primary Certification from the Montessori Institute of San Diego, a program recognized worldwide for its rigorous training and commitment to authentic Montessori principles. She is admired for creating environments where children feel supported, inspired, and empowered to explore at their own pace.
Her teaching philosophy centers on the belief that every child’s potential blossoms through meaningful work, gentle guidance, and a thoughtfully prepared environment. Ms. Ivonne integrates core Montessori values—empathy, respect, independence, gratitude, and a love of learning—into both her teaching and everyday life, guiding children with care, intention, and respect.
Through her dedication and love for Montessori education, Ms. Ivonne fulfilled one of her greatest dreams by co-founding Blooming House Montessori with Ms. Ely. Together, they created a school grounded in shared values and a commitment to authentic Montessori practice, offering a nurturing environment where children grow with confidence, independence, and joy.
Outside the classroom, Ms. Ivonne enjoys walking and cuddling with her 6-year-old Shih-Tzu, watching movies, and spending quality time with her husband, friends, and family. Her compassion and dedication make her an exceptional guide and a cherished part of the Blooming House Montessori community.
